HUGE UPSET

I just received a call from Synergy Bariatrics.  My surgery was suppoed to be this coming Monday the 10th of November with Dr. Viglianco.  I was supposed to have laproscopic bypass.  I was told that they are no longer doing laproscopic bypass and are only doing open.  So my surgery has changed to Tuesday November 12 and I am now having open bypass with Dr. Carauana.  I am really upset I was looking forward to everything happening smoothly and now with this change it is a day longer and a different procedure.  the only positive is I am no longer on the liver reducing diet.

WOW!

That is shocking news...at least your surgery wasn't cancelled all together. 

I wonder if Dr. V left the practice....

Oh no! I've been waiting since April, I'm suppose to get my call in November for my surgery date for laproscopic with Dr. Viglianco. I don't want Carauana, Mr Dr. doesn't like him and I wanted laproscopic. This is just great, I thought I was almost there, now I don't know what to do.

i just had lap gastric bypass on 10/16 with him...
now im worried because they arent doing them anymore???
does this mean they were having problems or something???

Wow. I am shocked to hear that too. And I can understand why you are upset because that is a different procedure. They didn't give you any explanation? I am just so surprised. My sister in law sees Dr. V, and she has been trying to schedule a date this whole week (she has 2 little girls) they didn't say anything to her about it, but she is having open so maybe that's why...I dunno. I hope everything still goes smoothly for you, best wishes.

I'm sorry to hear about your delay...Dr. Carauana is an excellent doctor, but I can understand about the change to open..the recovery time is much longer.  Keep us updated.

Sorry for the changes, that is a terrible feeling....However you are still able to have this wonderful surgery.  THere are so many that are denied all together the chance of a new life.  So try to think positive......it all happens for a reason.
